About The Position

The Patient Access Specialist will provide a positive and consistent patient experience for registration, utilization review, discharge planning, and administrative support for the Psychiatric Hospital and Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Services.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage.
• Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s Degree or higher in a business or healthcare-related field preferred.
• Prefer two (2) years of office and financial experience.
• Certificate in Revenue Cycle or Utilization Management preferred.
• Navigator license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, friendly, and professional presence at the front desk.
• Assist all patients, visitors, and contractors to check-in and out of the building.
• Communicate with staff in all departments about arrival and departures of patients, visitors, and contractors.
• Register, check-in, and schedule patients for services.
• Gather required insurance, identification, legal documentation, and consents for registration into programs.
• Support patients with accessing healthcare coverage.
• Assist with monitoring patient charts for complete and thorough documentation needed for the authorization and billing process.
• Submit documentation to insurance providers for authorization of services.
• Other duties as assigned.
