About The Position

Responsible for greeting, registering, collecting payments in compliance with the applicable State and Federal regulations, and hospital policies and procedures. Is an ambassador of Good Samaritan, cultivating PRIDE values of patient, respect, integrity, dignity, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Ability to collect information via phone, in person (bedside or in a registration booth) to accurately register patients for outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and observation services.
  • Ability to verify insurance eligibility and discuss Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN) when appropriate.
  • Understanding of insurances and responses to correctly input for reimbursement on services received.
  • Ability to collect, secure, and post payments from patients.
  • Ability to greet patients and provide routing assistance to point of service.
  • Ability to handle phone, fax, and email inquiries.
  • Ability to balance cash drawers, petty cash, and change functions.
  • Ability to prepare funds for deposits.
  • Ability to answer correspondence.
  • Ability to provide patients with Financial Assistance information and explain submission and processing when appropriate.
