Patient Access Representatives deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. As a Patient Access Representative, you will pre-register and greet patients in the Emergency Department, verify information and collect copays for diagnostic services and pre-register patients for outpatient services. Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians and family members and setting the tone for how their visit to the Emergency Department goes. A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00PM – 11:00PM, including every other weekend.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role with in person or phone contact OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year
Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems

Responsibilities

Perform registration and complete an accurate face-to-face interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information.
Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.
Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
