Patient Access Representative - Thoracic Surgery
About The Position

Position Purpose: As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for providing essential clerical support and ensuring a seamless patient registration process. This entails verifying benefits, facilitating patient discharges, collecting copays or payments, maintaining accurate account balances, and performing general data entry tasks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 yr of experience working in a customer services position and/or office setting
- BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Able to reach above and below shoulder level, lift, bend, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and sit for the full scheduled shift; able to use business office equipment/computer.
- Expected duties have, but not routine exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service completing the registration process for patients.
- Confirms patient demographic information, verification of benefits, scheduling and coordinating post discharge care for patients, collection of copays or payments, balancing of accounts, and general data entry.
- Preregister, register, schedule, reschedule, and discharge patients according to the defined guidelines.
