About The Position

Provide patient focused customer service. Perform outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions; Collect patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals. Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families & physician offices.

Requirements

  • 1 year customer service experience, required
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Data entry skills (50 to 60 keystrokes per minute)
  • Basic computer skills
  • HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers.
  • Accuracy and attentiveness to detail and time management skills.

  • Knowledge of diagnostic & procedural coding
  • Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits, secure necessary authorizations
