As a Patient Access Representative in the Emergency Department, your responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families and visitors, from the moment they enter to the time they return home. In this role, you will assist patients with everything from registration, insurance eligibility and collecting co-payments, to self-screening and scheduling services. This position provides a strong foundation to advance in your career within various departments at the Cleveland Clinic. The team at Hillcrest has multiple openings/hours. Please note that if you are selected, you will need to attend a 2 week EPIC training starting on your first day. The training is Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm on-site at Hillcrest Hospital. You will need to attend all days of this training. Once the training is complete, you will then start work on your assigned schedule/shift. In order to be considered, you will need to acknowledge that you are able to attend the full duration of the training. Current openings: Part time days 9:00 am-3:30 pm Part time evenings 3:00 pm-9:30 pm Part time evenings. 3:30 pm-10:00 pm Full time days 11:00 am-7:30 pm

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year
  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
  • Ability to work confidently and efficiently in an emergency department setting
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Must acknowledge that you are able to attend the full duration of the 2 week EPIC training (Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm on-site at Hillcrest Hospital).

Responsibilities

  • Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial
  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register
  • Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic
