About The Position

At CHI Health Midlands, we proudly serve Sarpy County and surrounding areas in Nebraska with patient-focused care. As our Patient Access Representative, you will serve as the essential first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and positive healthcare experience. You will play a critical role in our revenue cycle by managing accurate patient registration, verifying insurance eligibility, and maintaining confidential documentation within our electronic health records. By facilitating smooth access-related workflows and collaborating with internal teams, you will help our facility maintain the highest standards of operational excellence and patient service. Every day you will utilize multiple healthcare systems to schedule appointments, process medical records, and resolve registration or insurance discrepancies. You will engage with patients to communicate financial responsibilities, provide clear estimates of liabilities, and collect payments at the time of service. Your daily responsibilities will also include answering inquiries, routing calls, maintaining a professional front-office environment, and participating in team huddles to ensure all productivity and quality benchmarks are consistently met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a healthcare or patient access setting
  • Solid foundation in computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and data entry
  • Strong understanding of insurance payers
  • Real-time eligibility verification
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
