About The Position

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, listening to their needs and serving them appropriately. This role contributes to a positive work atmosphere through actions and attitude, relays relevant information to internal staff, and follows practice procedures for appointment entry, check-in, and check-out processes. The position also involves participating in office meetings and educational activities, maintaining a neat work area, and complying with HIPAA procedures. The role requires the ability to train in all areas including Check-in/out, Chart Auditing, and Call Center functions. Travel to all OTX locations is required, as is cross-training in different Patient Access functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to work Plano and Frisco locations occasionally.
  • Must be able to work 10-7 shift at least 2x per week and 7am - 4pm shift at least 2 x per week (variable Mon through Thurs).
  • Travel to all OTX locations is required.
  • Cross-Training in different Patient Access functions is required.
  • High School Diploma, or general education degree (GED), or one to three months relates experience, and/or training or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Train in all areas: Check in/out, Chart Auditing, Call Center functions.
  • Provides excellent customer service to patients by listening and appropriately serving patients.
  • Contributes to an overall positive work atmosphere through actions and attitude.
  • Relays relevant information to the appropriate internal staff.
  • Follows practice procedures for appointment entry, check-in and/or check-out processes.
  • Participates in office meetings and educational activities.
  • Maintains work area in neat and orderly manner.
  • Complies with HIPAA procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
