This position provides a positive patient experience to patients and families by demonstrating strong communication and customer service skills while registering patients. The Patient Access Representative accurately searches and selects the correct patient, gathers complete and accurate demographic and insurance information, and identifies uninsured patients for referral. They retrieve orders, confirm medical necessity, answer phones for outpatient visits, and gather necessary insurance information from accident patients. The role also involves collecting patient out-of-pocket liability/copays, verifying insurance, and confirming referrals and authorizations.
