The Patient Access Representative is responsible for pre-registration, registration and admission functions in the Emergency Department at Saint Mary's Hospital. This role involves performing complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions, verifying insurance requirements, obtaining and understanding insurance benefits, and securing signatures and all other key information needed to complete billing and collection functions. The representative will also collect or arrange for co-insurance and/or other deposit payment amounts, refer self-pay patients to financial counselors, and answer patient questions.
