This position is responsible for providing front-line support to the Emergency Department, coordinating and performing office activities efficiently. Key duties include greeting and registering incoming patients, supporting the patient check-out process, and scheduling future appointments. The role involves accurately verifying patient demographics, interpreting insurance responses, assigning primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance, and ensuring compliance with disclosure and privacy information. The representative obtains necessary legal and financial signatures, communicates financial obligations, and collects fees at the time of service. They are also responsible for completing regulatory forms, scheduling follow-up appointments, processing multi-channel messages related to patient and physician requests, notifying patients of financial responsibility, and performing cash posting. Adherence to organizational and HIPAA guidelines, patient confidentiality, and patient rights is crucial. The role requires independently managing work queues for timely account resolution and maintaining productivity and quality performance expectations. Additionally, the representative performs medical record maintenance and releases, assists with referrals and pre-certifications, and utilizes patient recall and reschedule lists.
