Patient Access Representative - PRN
About The Position
This is a PRN position. You must be available to work mornings, evenings, nights and/or weekends! Requires open availability. Must be able to train on days as well. These requirements are a MUST. This position is located in Lavonia, GA at Sacred Heart hospital. Directly responsible for the daily operational activities necessary to assure that all functions of Patient Registration are performed in the most efficient and effective manner, to promote public relations by being friendly, professional and respectful, to guarantee the flow of accurate medical, insurance and demographic information throughout the system.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Must have a basic understanding of the core Microsoft suite offerings (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of insurance and governmental programs, regulations and billing processes (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, Tricare, and Supplemental Security Income Disability), managed care contracts and coordination of benefits is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical record coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) is preferred.
- HFMA CRCR preferred.
- Two years of college or prescribed course of study in business or healthcare field preferred
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Past work experience of at least one to three (1-3) years within a hospital or clinic environment, an insurance company, managed care organization or other health care financial service setting, performing medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting or customer service activities is highly desired.
- Consideration may be given for commensurate customer service experience in another industry.
