This role is responsible for timely and accurate patient registration, interviewing patients for all pertinent account information, verifying all insurance, and calculating and collecting patient liability amounts. The position ensures that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment, answers questions, and explains policies clearly. Additionally, the role involves checking for physician orders and attaching them to the appropriate patient record to ensure correct tests are received, and printing and collating necessary paperwork for patient distribution.

Requirements

High School Education/GED or equivalent
Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
Check for physician orders and attaches them to patient medical record to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests
Choose correct health plan and accurately and research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance
Enter all authorization information accurately as needed
Follows guidelines and instructions from senior staff

Responsibilities

Print and collate paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department
Escort patients to his/her area or refer patient to available escort as needed
Enter all authorization information accurately as needed
Follows guidelines and instructions from senior staff
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
