GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager/Supervisor and the Patient Access Manager/Supervisor; the Patient Access Representative is responsible for performing all aspects of the Patient Access function including registration of patients, rating appropriate financial class, obtaining appropriate insurance information and scheduling patient appointments while maintaining department quality standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
One year clerical experience
Ability to use a computer
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Basic medical terminology knowledge
Previous registration and/or insurance verification experience in a medical setting

Responsibilities

Performing all aspects of the Patient Access function including registration of patients
Rating appropriate financial class
Obtaining appropriate insurance information
Scheduling patient appointments while maintaining department quality standards
