About The Position

Responsible for professional and efficient operation of the admission/registration process in Medical Imaging. Performs a variety of patient access functions related to patient admission and discharge including appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and point of service collections. Engages in continual education in the patient access arena.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one-year of office experience preferred: phone etiquette, typing 30-45 WPM, 10 key calculator, Microsoft Office, multi-line phones, fax and copy machine.
• Previous customer service skills required.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish communication a plus.

Responsibilities

• Opens/closes Clinic front desk according to clinic procedures.
• Schedules appointments for patients using computerized scheduling system.
• Greets all patients in a courteous and timely manner.
• Answers multi-line telephone; takes clear, detailed, and legible messages and transfers calls to appropriate department when necessary.
• May operate the switchboard for answering and transferring telephone calls, routine inquiries, and makes necessary connections on the overhead paging system.
• Upon patient admission, verifies that patient demographic and insurance information is current and correct and that required forms are filled out and signed.
• Enters and/or updates patient information in computerized hospital information systems in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assembles patient charts for clinic use; ensuring that the proper forms are on the chart for the particular visit type, i.e. workers compensation, physicals, government programs, etc.
