About The Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative for its primary care practice in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. This role supports patient access and office operations by assisting patients at check-in and check-out, coordinating appointments and procedures, and providing clerical and administrative support. The position may cover different offices as needed or directed. It reports to the Practice Manager/Administrator or designee. The position is 40 hours per week on a day shift, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $17.86 to $28.76 per hour.

Requirements

• Education equal to completion of four years of high school.
• Good computer and typing skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for and sign a statement electing an exemption for medical or personal reasons once hired.

Nice To Haves

• One year of medical office practice experience, graduation from a medical secretary program, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Check in and check out patients at assigned practices.
• Schedule patient visits, tests, and surgical procedures.
• Greet patients and answer and direct telephone calls.
• Perform clerical and administrative functions.
• Cover different offices as needed or directed.
