The Patient Access Representative/Scheduler is the first point of contact for patients, responsible for patient check-in/out, payment collection, and medical record management. This role requires excellent customer service skills, including greeting patients, answering calls, identifying patient needs, confirming identity and eligibility, scheduling appointments, and answering questions. The position also involves various office and clerical duties, ensuring patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality, and maintaining a safe environment in compliance with regulations and infection control policies. In addition to front office tasks, the Patient Access Representative with Medical Assistant duties will escort patients to exam rooms, record vital signs and medication lists, monitor patient flow, assist physicians with minor clinical procedures, administer immunizations, and prepare patient charts. They will also schedule diagnostic tests and perform other assigned duties.
