About The Position
Scheurer Hospital, a critical access rural hospital, is looking for a part time Patient Access II Representative. This is a part-time position with 48 hours per pay period, working nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on 12-hour shifts. Partial benefits are included.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Responsibilities
- Register inpatient, swing bed, and observation patients
- Schedule outpatient department visits and educate patients on any necessary prep instructions
- Submit data for Consumer Products
- May work as a receptionist or registrar if needed
- May work different shifts as needed
- Collect payments at the time of registration and maintain the Michigan standard of error-free accounts
- Abide by the Scheurer Health Behavioral Standards
