This role is located at the Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical Center and operates Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, totaling 40 hours per week. The Patient Access Representative I greets patients and families professionally, acting as a liaison between them and staff. Key responsibilities include managing the scheduling and registration process for ambulatory appointments, handling patient check-in and check-out, and collecting accurate demographic, identification, insurance, and other relevant information. The role also involves promoting MyChart sign-ups, guiding patients through financial screening, and ensuring adherence to organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights. This includes providing necessary disclosures, obtaining legal and financial signatures, and maintaining patient information in the electronic medical record. The position supports quality care by complying with policies and external regulations, managing patient intake and referral processes, and scheduling appointments according to protocols. Additional duties include maintaining departmental faxes, screening and routing calls, scanning clinical records, and managing Epic work queues for scheduling, registration, and referrals. The representative will also schedule new and follow-up patient visits, including diagnostic and ancillary appointments, and maintain registration-related key performance indicators. The role supports hospital and departmental performance improvement goals, initiatives, and change efforts, practicing financial and resource stewardship. Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to organizational core values are essential.
