The Patient Access Representative 1 (On-Site) registers patients for clinical services by obtaining pertinent information, verifying insurance benefits, and collecting payments. This role is responsible for performing full registration, ensuring insurance verification, and confirming patient information accuracy. The representative will explain and obtain signatures on important documents like Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA. They will also schedule, cancel, and edit appointments, reconcile vouchers, and handle patient inquiries via phone. Additionally, this role involves projecting a welcoming demeanor, interacting effectively with patients and the healthcare team, and utilizing multiple systems such as EPIC MyChart, Grand Central ADT, Cadence, Prelude, Radiant, OP Time, Care Everywhere, Resolute, Nice inContact Communication, and Aria Oncology. The position requires pre-service validation, assisting patients with self-serve technology, coordinating patient flow, and accurately entering/updating demographic, financial, and clinical information. It also involves reviewing insurance eligibility, conducting critical communication regarding legal and compliance documents, answering and triaging calls, collecting and reconciling currency, and performing end-of-day cash reconciliation. The role requires cross-training for Front-End Revenue Cycle and Clinical Support functions, with the ability to float across areas as needed. Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines including OSHA, HIPAA, JC, AHCA, EMTALA, and CMS is essential.
