The Patient Access Representative 1 (On-Site) registers patients for clinical services by obtaining pertinent information, verifying insurance benefits, and collecting payments. This role is crucial for ensuring a favorable first impression and positive patient experience by coordinating a wide range of functions from pre-arrival to discharge utilizing multiple systems. The representative will also perform pre-service validation, assist patients with self-serve technology, coordinate patient flow, obtain and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information, review insurance eligibility, and explain legal, ethical, and compliance-related documents to patients. Additionally, they will provide financial counseling, collect payments, promote effective communication, handle high volumes of calls, reconcile cash drawers, and assist the department in meeting key performance indicator goals. The role requires maintaining strong relationships with the healthcare team, resolving issues, ensuring physical distancing, and being cross-trained to assist in all Front-End Revenue Cycle and Clinical Support functions.
