About The Position

This role is responsible for registering patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information. The position involves receiving, investigating, and responding to various inquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner. Key duties include determining the financial status of the patient or guarantor, completing all financial/insurance related functions and signatures, communicating with third-party payors to obtain insurance benefits and authorizations, collecting money due from patients, completing necessary reports, and communicating with various departments such as Case Management, Patient Financial Services, and the Self/Pay/Medicaid eligibility Team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) certification within 1 year of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree preferred or process of obtaining one

Responsibilities

  • Register patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information.
  • Receive, investigate and respond to various inquiries and questions in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Determine the financial status of the patient and or guarantor and complete all financial/insurance related functions and signatures.
  • Communicate with third party payors, obtain insurance benefits and obtain insurance authorizations.
  • Collect money due from patient at admission, or in ER setting, prior to discharge.
  • Complete all necessary reports.
  • Communicate with Case Management, Patient Financial Services and Self/Pay/Medicaid eligibility Team and all other departments when appropriate.
