The Patient Access Rep - Radiology is responsible for patient reception, scheduling and data entry, film and CD handling, and obtaining medical records. This role acts as the initial contact with patients, whether in person or by phone, greeting staff, patients, and visitors, and serving as a general information source at the radiology front desk. The position involves obtaining all necessary demographic and clinical information, processing patient data entry for accurate scheduling and reception, and scheduling patients via telephone. It also includes obtaining clinical history, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient forms, and confirming appointments by phone the day before the visit. The role requires answering telephones, relaying messages, distributing faxes, answering general questions about radiographic examinations, and ensuring waiting areas are presentable. Additionally, the Patient Access Rep participates in quality improvement activities, obtains outside films and CDs from other facilities as needed, and performs other related duties as assigned.
