The Patient Access Representative performs registrations for inpatient/outpatient visits, including patient interviews, signing of forms, scanning of documents, and routing of patients. They also schedule outpatient visits for various departments and verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations for procedures as applicable. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Patient Access or their designee. The role is located in a general hospital setting and may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and patients with infectious states. The position reports directly to the Patient Access Manager, Director of Patient Access, or their designee, and works closely with hospital district leadership, departments, and internal/external customers.
