About The Position
The Patient Access / Registration role is responsible for patient registration, collection of copayments, and gathering all necessary patient demographic information. This involves obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and patient liability details. The position requires pre-registration of patient admissions, obtaining on-site approvals and payments, explaining insurance and private pay liabilities, and referring patients for financial counseling when needed. Accurate data entry and reconciliation of payments are also key responsibilities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Nice To Haves
- Patient access hospital experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the pre-registration process of patient admissions
- Obtain approvals and payments on site
- Explain insurance and private pay liabilities; appropriately refer patients requiring financial counseling
- Accurately enter/update all patient demographic information, including insurance and patient liability; post payments to appropriate screen and complete reconciliation reports
