About The Position

This position will travel between our hospital clinic in Glenwood Springs to Silt, Aspen, and Willits off-site clinics as well! The Patient Access Prof./Patient Service Specialist provides patients and physicians professional and friendly billing and reception duties and knowledge of Orthopedics at Valley View. Responsible for providing exemplary guest service to all internal and external customers. This service includes phone and face-to-face interaction with our patients, expeditiously determining and meeting patients’ needs, assisting patients when appropriate, and displaying an approachable and professional image in personal appearance. This position requires knowledge of healthcare terminology, health insurance, electronic medical records system, HIPPA, and familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 principles. Organizes patient flow, keeping physicians and patients on schedule. Maintains patient files and accounts in a professionally accurate manner. Screens office manager, physician and nurse calls, handling appropriately. Ensures billing and collection processes are maintained. Assists as necessary in a timely manner with all billing and collection efforts.

Requirements

  • Clerical: typing filing, scheduling, and strong computer skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Two years in a reception or clerical field.
  • One to two years of customer service required.
  • Previous experience in insurance verification, patient registration, collections or billing required.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
