About The Position

The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field-based role responsible for the site-level execution of Compass Pathways' patient engagement strategy. This involves supporting REMS certification, enhancing site access readiness, and providing compliant coverage and reimbursement education to healthcare stakeholders. The PAL acts as a patient access resource, assisting sites with understanding treatment logistics, identifying information gaps, addressing patient access barriers, and ensuring operational readiness for REMS requirements, specialty pharmacy, distribution, and external support processes. The role also focuses on strengthening account and stakeholder relationships, collaborating with matrix team members, maintaining CRM documentation, and adhering to non-promotional role boundaries. Additionally, the PAL contributes by sharing field insights and process-improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in field reimbursement, patient access, and case management within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or specialty healthcare.
  • Required experience navigating a healthcare ecosystem.
  • Experience supporting access and reimbursement processes, specialty pharmacy programs, patient support services, coverage, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, affordability programs, and compliant access resources.
  • Experience helping sites and stakeholders support patient progression from referral through treatment initiation by identifying barriers, connecting resources, and reinforcing treatment readiness and next steps.
  • Experience partnering with treatment sites to assess needs, strengthen workflows, and build trusted account and stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated strong planning, organization, accountability, and disciplined execution.
  • Ability to use data and field insights to anticipate and address access challenges across multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Experience collaborating compliantly with matrix partners while maintaining appropriate role boundaries, communicating access barriers and field insights, and balancing stakeholder needs with patient-centered execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must reside within 25 miles of the assigned territory border(s).
  • Must have employment rights in the country of application (US).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with COMP360 psilocybin treatment.
  • Experience with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) patient populations.
  • Experience with REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies) programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support REMS certification and enrolment by educating sites on certification activities and patient enrollment processes, including operational requirements.
  • Enable site access readiness by supporting access workflows post-REMS certification, strengthening relationships, and ensuring operational readiness for therapy delivery.
  • Provide compliant and proactive education on coverage, coding, payment, reimbursement, benefit investigations, claims, prior authorizations, appeals, and access processes.
  • Educate on appropriate case management processes for consented patients, including compliant use of patient healthcare information, benefit investigations, benefit verifications, prior authorizations, appeals, and affordability program navigation.
  • Support case-level access resolution by identifying and troubleshooting barriers through approved pathways like buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy, and HUB services.
  • Enable understanding of treatment logistics by coordinating patient treatment scheduling across REMS requirements, HUB, specialty pharmacies, distribution partners, and other external support networks.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional handoffs, receiving and acting upon referrals from Sales and Site of Care Account Leads regarding site readiness, account economics, and case-level access challenges.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely documentation of account activities, case interactions, and resolution outcomes within the CRM system.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute account-level business plans reflecting site access priorities, stakeholder needs, operational readiness, and patient access opportunities within the assigned geography.
  • Refrain from engaging in promotional activities, product promotion, or commercial sales discussions to maintain non-promotional role boundaries.
