Serves as the primary point of contact for access to USC academic medical centers and the USC Health Sciences Campus. This role involves answering, screening, and directing incoming and outgoing telephone calls, electronic messages, and other web-based communications using a call management system. The Patient Access Liaison II responds to basic inquiries and refers others to appropriate medical personnel, and distributes messages using various electronic methods. Additionally, this role is responsible for scheduling and confirming medical appointments, registering patients, verifying insurance coverage, and advising patients of estimated financial responsibilities. The position also includes performing data entry, ensuring data integrity, and reconciling information as needed. The Patient Access Liaison II is expected to demonstrate competency in quality of work and knowledge, strive for first call resolution, maintain a high level of customer service, and exhibit professional behavior in all interactions. They are expected to contribute effectively as a team member, follow communication standards and policies, and accept alternate assignments. Remote work is expected when organizationally deployed, following established guidelines. The role may also involve paging physicians and performing follow-up checks, ensuring information in the Call Management system and Qgenda is updated and accessible. This position requires proficiency in using organizational communication systems for patient interactions, scheduling, and data management, including verifying insurance and determining financial responsibility.
