About The Position

The Patient Access Associate serves as patient-facing support for the Patient Access Department within Piedmont Healthcare. The role ensures patient accounts are complete with valid insurance coverage and current demographic and clinical data. The associate calculates patient financial responsibility, presents patient financial options and requirements, processes patient payments, and secures patient consent and acknowledgement on required forms and notices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• At least 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, a clinical role, or related clerical accounting, finance, retail, or customer service.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years of healthcare Revenue Cycle experience.
• Prior Epic experience.
• Certification with the Healthcare Financial Management Association or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification.

Responsibilities

• Support patients as part of the Patient Access Department.
• Ensure patient accounts have valid insurance coverage and current demographic and clinical data.
• Calculate patient financial responsibility and present financial options and requirements.
