About The Position

As a Patient Access Associate in the Emergency Department, you are often the first point of contact during some of a patient’s most stressful and urgent situations. Whether it’s an unexpected emergency or a critical moment, you bring calm, clarity, and compassion from the very start. Your ability to stay focused, organized, and empathetic helps patients and families feel supported—even in high-pressure situations. This role is critical for bringing order, clarity, and support when it’s needed most.

Requirements

Strong customer service skills and emotional intelligence
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly in real time
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients and families with urgency and empathy
Register patients quickly and accurately during emergency visits
Verify insurance, demographics, and required documentation
Communicate clearly and compassionately in high-stress situations
Support admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
Partner with clinical teams to maintain patient flow and efficiency
