The Assistant Manager, Patient Access oversees daily operations of the Patient Access team to ensure accurate registration, financial intake, service standards compliance, and an exceptional patient experience across the system. The role involves overseeing daily operations, staffing, productivity, and service standards compliance. The Assistant Manager keeps the Patient Access Manager and Director informed of Service Standard goals, performance evaluations, disciplinary issues, and other related statistical data. They are responsible for completing regular quality audits to ensure accurate patient registration, insurance verification, documentation, and charge entry. This role also leads point-of-service collections, supports patient financial discussions, prepares work schedules, coordinates daily duties, and ensures employees comply with attendance guidelines. Additionally, the Assistant Manager is responsible for coordinating training, coaching, and timely completion of performance evaluations for the patient access team. They conduct quality audits, monitor trends, and implement process improvements. Coordination with Nursing, Scheduling, and Revenue Cycle teams is essential to support patient flow. The Assistant Manager ensures Patient Access SOPs are up-to-date and recommends process improvements for maximum team efficiency. Participation in a rotational on-call schedule is required for timely leadership support, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees are responsible for attending all mandatory educational, compliance, and safety program sessions. The role emphasizes understanding and demonstrating the importance of satisfying patient/customer needs through friendly and caring interactions, attentiveness, and proactive communication to ensure a secure and pleasant experience.
