About The Position

Greensboro Urban Ministry is seeking a Part-time Pathways Resident Manager to oversee the Pathways Center on weekends. This role involves supervising residents, ensuring the safety and security of the facility, enforcing shelter policies, and assisting with daily operations. The position requires strong organizational and customer service skills, with a focus on providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in the human services field and be able to respond effectively to resident concerns and emergencies using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Speaking, standing, sitting, walking, writing, problem solving, carrying, reaching, lifting, bending, pushing/pulling, squatting, and patience.
  • Organization and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the human services field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise residents during assigned shifts while promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
  • Monitor the safety and security of the shelter, residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of the facility and grounds to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with shelter policies.
  • Enforce shelter rules, policies, and procedures consistently and respectfully.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident concerns, conflicts, behavioral issues, and emergencies using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
  • Complete shift reports, incident reports, maintenance requests, and other required documentation accurately and before the end of each shift.
  • Communicate significant resident concerns, incidents, and facility issues to the Shelter Director and Case Management staff.
  • Assist with meal service, donations, inventory, and other daily shelter operations as assigned.
  • Welcome and assist volunteers, community partners, and visitors while ensuring compliance with agency policies.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and uphold ethical and professional standards at all times.
  • Follow all agency safety procedures, including fire, medical, severe weather, and emergency response protocols.
  • Provide accurate information about shelter services, community resources, and agency programs within the scope of the position.
  • Refer callers to appropriate community agencies and resources when services are unavailable or outside of the shelter’s scope.
  • Accept donations to Pathways.
  • Clean the Manager's Apartment prior to going off duty.
