About The Position
Capital Choice Pathology Lab is seeking an experienced Pathology Support Tech Supervisor for its Silver Spring, MD location. This role is responsible for managing schedules, staffing, and coverage across multiple locations, supervising and developing staff, and supporting departmental operations. The supervisor will also assist with billing-related workflows, collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and operational improvements, monitor workflow metrics, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The position involves coordinating daily workflow, monitoring service levels, and ensuring timely support of operational needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a science related field or equivalent years of experience.
- 5+ year of laboratory experience
Responsibilities
- Manage schedules, staffing models, assignments, and coverage to meet operational needs across multiple locations; provide coverage and float between sites as needed.
- Supervise, evaluate, coach, and develop staff; manage competencies, performance expectations, onboarding, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions in coordination with leadership and HR.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental operations and customer service needs.
- Float between affiliated hospital sites and departments as needed to maintain workflow continuity and ensure timely support of operational needs.
- Support billing-related workflows, including case auditing and use of QuickBooks, to assist with business operations and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, service expansion, and operational improvements.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, implementation of new technologies, and standardization of workflows.
- Monitor workflow metrics, productivity, turnaround times, and service issues; analyze operational and financial data to develop reports, identify trends, and support decision-making and performance improvement initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and implement SOPs and ensure compliance with CAP, safety, privacy, and other regulatory requirements.
- Resolve quality issues within the department, ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions, and oversee documentation practices and staff compliance across assigned areas.
- Coordinate daily workflow across hospital clients, pathology staff, and internal departments to support effective service delivery.
- Monitor service levels, staffing needs, and operational demands, and adjust resources to maintain continuity and responsiveness.
- Support billing-related workflows, by case auditing and utilizing QuickBooks, to assist with business operations.
