Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment
- Commitment to quality, safety, and confidentiality
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare or laboratory experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Prepare the autopsy room and assist pathologists and residents during procedures
- Receive and accession pathology specimens using hospital and laboratory information systems
- Organize, inventory, file, and dispose of pathology specimens
- Load tissue specimens onto tissue processors and maintain laboratory equipment
- Retrieve tissue specimens, slides, and blocks for additional testing and review
- Assist with frozen section processing to support timely diagnoses
- Prepare cytology specimens and coordinate specimen send-outs when needed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support laboratory quality improvement initiatives
- Practice infection prevention and safety standards while maintaining a clean work environment
