About The Position

Responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing clinical laboratory specimens. This role involves receiving, labeling, and distributing clinical laboratory specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples. Processing includes verifying patient information, accessioning samples into the laboratory information system, and preparing them for testing. The position also requires monitoring and maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment, while strictly following established procedures and protocols for specimen handling, storage, and disposal. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area, adhering to safety and quality standards (including PPE usage and hazardous material disposal), and collaborating with laboratory staff and healthcare providers are also key aspects of this role. This is a per diem position.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology.
Ability to follow established procedures and protocols with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
