About The Position

The Pathology Coordinator will be responsible for contacting patients daily to effectively communicate pathology results and answer any questions they may have. This role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to understand and use medical terminology, particularly in dermatology. The coordinator will also manage patient appointments using Next Gen Practice Management and utilize EMA Electronic Medical Records. Key responsibilities include triaging phone calls, addressing patient concerns about results, activating patient portals, updating pharmacy information, and processing medication refills. The role emphasizes planning, organization, prioritization, teamwork, and working with minimal supervision to achieve team goals and foster a culture of patient excellence and customer service.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in a doctor's office.
  • Prior dermatology experience.
  • Quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and mannerisms.
  • Understand dermatology terminology.
  • Demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and coworkers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and seek information or advice when needed.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with providers and other staff.
  • Self-starter.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to reach weekly goals as a team.
  • Motivation to succeed as a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification preferred (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician).
  • EMA experience preferred.

Responsibilities
