About The Position
Under the supervision of a board-certified pathologist, the Pathologists' Assistant will play a central role in the gross examinations and dissections of anatomic pathology specimens contributing to accurate and timely diagnoses for our patients.
Requirements
- Master of Health Sciences (MHS) or equivalent degree from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program.
- 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume surgical pathology laboratory preferred.
- Experience with intraoperative consultation and frozen section technique.
- Familiar with laboratory information system including CERNER and COPATH.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling and documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with a professional and patient-centered approach.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- PA (ASCP) Certification or eligible to sit for certification. If eligible for certification, must obtain within one year of hire or transfer.
- Able to operate and maintain pathology equipment and instruments.
- Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
