About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for a Pathologist in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role involves inpatient clinical pathology services, focusing on anatomic pathology reads, including surgical pathology and cytology. The pathologist will oversee the grossing of specimens with the assistance of a pathologist's assistant and collaborate with histotechnologists for specimen processing. Additionally, the position requires on-call coverage for weekend pathology emergencies and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with lab standards. The EMR system used is Epic, and there is one PA/NP on staff. While hospital privileges are not initially required, temporary privileges are available. The coverage period is ASAP through January 1, 2027, with a Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm shift schedule, and on-call duties every other weekend.

Requirements

• Board Certified (BC required)
• Licensed in MO or Universal License (IMLC)
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Perform anatomic pathology reads including surgical pathology and cytology.
