About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Pathologist in Saranac Lake, NY, serving a hospital setting. The role focuses on clinical pathology and covers a period from July 2, 2026, ongoing. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The patient demographic is adults, with patient volume varying based on the surgical schedule. The case mix is predominantly GI pathology. The facility uses the Meditech EMR system and has standard pathology lab equipment. Backup pathologist and outside lab support are available. A grossing tech is on staff, with occasional backup grossing required. Hospital privileges are required for this role.
Requirements
- Active NY license required
- Board Certified Pathology
- Experience with frozen sections required

Responsibilities
- Perform surgical pathology and cytopathology evaluations
- Analyze frozen sections for surgical cases
- Review and interpret pathology specimens
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting
