Pathologists will provide clinical and anatomical pathology services in a full-service laboratory including, but not limited to: Aspiration/biopsy Interpretation and performance of frozen sections Evaluations/interpretation of inpatient and outpatient surgical specimens. Evaluation of Hematology specimens. Utilization of immunohistochemical stains Clinical Pathology Microbiology/Immunology Hematology Blood Banking and Serology Immunohematology Clinical Chemistry Cytopathy Dermatopathology Neuropathology Clinic Responsibilities: physician(s) shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries start times as documented by physical presence in the clinic or OR at the scheduled start time. Communication of Test Results: Mechanisms must be in-place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care. Medications: Pathologists shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Discharge education: Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Pathology clinical or surgical patients.
