About The Position

The CLIA Laboratory Medical Director provides clinical, scientific, regulatory, and quality oversight for the organization's high-complexity core clinical laboratory, ensuring compliance with CLIA and other applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements. This role provides medical consultation to clinicians, oversees the quality, accuracy, and appropriateness of laboratory testing, and leads quality management and continuous improvement initiatives that promote patient safety and high-quality laboratory services. In partnership with laboratory operations leadership, the Medical Director evaluates new technologies, supports operational excellence, and serves as the laboratory representative on The Vancouver Clinic's Quality Committee, collaborating to advance clinical excellence, patient safety, care experience, timeliness, affordability, and overall quality of care.

Requirements

  • M.D. / D.O.
  • Board Certification in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology
  • Unrestricted Washington State Medical License (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience supervising high complexity testing in an inpatient and/or outpatient laboratory setting
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Offers are contingent on successful completion of background screen and immunization requirements.
