About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Pathologist Assistant to support the Surgical Pathology department within a fast-paced academic medical environment. This role involves assisting pathologists with the preparation, examination, and documentation of surgical specimens while ensuring strict compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- New York State licensure as a Pathologist Assistant (required)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from one of the following:
- A Pathologists’ Assistant program, or
- A NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program, or
- An equivalent program as approved by the New York State Education Department
Responsibilities
- Assist pathologists with gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
- Prepare, document, and process specimens according to established protocols
- Ensure accurate labeling, handling, and tracking of pathology specimens
- Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to support efficient departmental workflow
