About The Position
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant! Are you passionate about making a real impact in the medical field? Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or a related science with at least three years of supervised on-the-job training OR A degree from an NCCLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant training program.
- NYS License as a Pathologists’ Assistant
Nice To Haves
- ASCP Certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant [PA(ASCP)CM].
- Additional certifications like Certified Histological Technician, Clinical Laboratory Technician, or Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist are a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Perform precise gross examinations and dissections of surgical specimens.
- Assist with the daily operations of the gross room.
- Follow NYSDOH, CAP, and CDC standards.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other clinical professionals to deliver timely, accurate specimen analyses.
- Maintain accurate records, manage tools, and aid technical staff to ensure the lab is stocked with supplies.
