About The Position

The Pathfinder program is designed for rising juniors and seniors in high school, offering them the opportunity to explore the machine tool industry and skilled trades through job shadowing and hands-on experience. Pathfinder students will perform various tasks under the supervision of the Pathfinder Coordinator or another qualified adult over 18 years of age.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must be currently enrolled in high school and not graduating in the current school year (program is intended for rising juniors and seniors).
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be willing to work 15-24 hours per week during the school year and possibly 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Be able to perform the physical requirements and tasks accordingly.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice To Haves

• Related skills and educational training are preferred such as Machine Tooling, Woodworking, Welding, Engineering, CAD etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties including sweeping, cleaning machines, cleaning restrooms, washing windows, dusting, mopping, sorting, stacking, moving material, mowing and raking lawns, and painting.
• Engage in hands-on tooling experiences such as stoning, polishing, milling, drilling, cutter grinding, drill sharpening, and general maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Gain exposure to the Engineering and CAD design area.
