About The Position

Leads tank welders on Path Robotics projects as well as welds metal components together using a variety of arc welding processes. Oversees and leads welders within the Path Robotic welding group. Communicates with Weld Supervisor and Weld Manager. Reports information on employee progress and issues for ongoing performance evaluations. Prepares workload for the welders. Uses GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW to weld weldments, tanks, and metal parts together per the weld process specification sheet. Reads and understands American and European blueprints, geometrical call outs, and weld symbols. Evaluates all processes within area of responsibility for ways to improve in quality, tooling usage, and run times. Welds complicated weldments where alignments, dimensional, and weld quality must conform. Uses weld fixtures, gauges, and jigs when applicable. Performs welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys, including carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Assists with creating work instructions. Completes first piece, in process, and final inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures. Pressure tests fuel tanks. Cleans and organizes work area. Oversees and leads welders in the Power Products division. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Reports any problems and issues that arise to the Weld Supervisor and/or Fabrication Manager.

Requirements

  • Employee must qualify within 90 days of hire in the weld processes he/she will be performing. Qualification per WWI-102.
  • One-year Technical Diploma; three to five years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
