About The Position

We are seeking attorneys for select opportunities involving patent prosecution, biotech patent work, computer science/electrical engineering patent work, licensing, technology transactions, IP portfolio strategy, and partner-level IP practices. These roles are grouped because the same candidate audience could reasonably match more than one opening. Current openings include a PhD-Level Biotech Patent Prosecution Associate (0-3 years experience), a Licensing & Transactions Attorney (CS/EE, 1-5 years experience), a Senior Patent Prosecution Associate (CS/EE, 6-10 years experience), and an Intellectual Property Partner (8+ years experience).

Requirements

  • Active US Bar + USPTO eligible
  • Active US Bar + Patent Bar eligible
  • Active US Bar + USPTO
  • Active US Bar
  • USPTO preferred
  • Patent prosecution, licensing, IP transactions, biotech, CS/EE, or partner-level IP experience
  • Technical aptitude or relevant technical degree where required
  • Comfortable drafting, counseling, and advising on IP assets
  • Relevant bar admission or patent bar eligibility where required
  • For partner roles, portable business or platform-ready client relationships
  • PhD in life sciences required (for Biotech Associate role)
  • JD required
  • 1-5 years attorney experience with patent experience at a law firm (for Licensing & Transactions Attorney role)
  • 6+ years patent prosecution experience at a law firm (for Senior Patent Prosecution Associate role)
  • CS/EE technical background (for Senior Patent Prosecution Associate role)
  • Partner or senior counsel-level IP practice (for IP Partner role)

  • Partner candidates without a credible business case where required

Responsibilities

  • Draft and prosecute U.S. and international biotech/life sciences patent applications
  • Respond to USPTO office actions
  • Conduct examiner interviews
  • Analyze invention disclosures/scientific data
  • Perform prior art searches and patentability analyses
  • Manage licensing programs
  • Lead licensee interactions
  • Prepare and present EOU claim charts
  • Conduct reverse engineering/EOU investigations
  • Analyze internet/network traffic
  • Support patent licensing negotiations
  • Own high-value U.S. and international patent portfolios
  • Handle office actions, examiner interviews, and appeals
  • Conduct prior art analysis and prepare claim charts
  • Develop IPR/litigation/licensing-informed prosecution strategy
  • Mentor junior attorneys
  • Engage in patent litigation or combined practice
  • Provide IP counseling and strategy
  • Develop IP portfolios
  • Manage IP risk
  • Handle U.S. and international patent filings and enforcement strategies
  • Execute IP-driven transactions and diligence across corporate, M&A, PE, funds, tax, and real estate.
