About The Position

Apple is seeking an experienced patent specialist to support its patent prosecution processes and strategies. The role works with Apple internal patent counsel and outside counsel, applying expertise across aspects of patent prosecution.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of paralegal experience in both U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Strong proficiency in U.S. and foreign patent prosecution procedures, rules, and regulations, including PCT practice, annuities, patent terms, and foreign filing deadlines and practices.
• Experience using commercial IP management systems such as CPI or Anaqua, USPTO Patent Center, Espacenet, and other patent-search and database tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively to meet deadlines.
• Collaborative team player who can share responsibility and work cohesively with others.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Design-specific patent prosecution and deadline management experience.

Responsibilities

• Support patent prosecution processes and strategies in collaboration with Apple internal patent counsel and outside counsel.
• Identify potential errors in docketing and patent prosecution documents and facilitate their resolution.
