Patent Attorney (Mechanical Arts) - St. Louis
About The Position
Stinson LLP is seeking a highly motivated patent attorney to join its St. Louis, Missouri office. The major clients that we advise include companies in the following industries: medical devices; consumer devices; transportation; construction; agribusiness; sports and recreation; cannabis; heat, ventilating and air conditioning; infrastructure protection and repair; manufacturing equipment; and electrical and fiber optic connectors.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor, higher degree, or equivalent in Law
- 7+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical arts.
- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar engineering degree and/or work experience
- Excellent academic credentials and excellent research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task efficiently and be an independent thinker.
- U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration.
- Licensed to practice law in Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in the mechanical engineering fields
- Drafting and reviewing intellectual property and technology related agreements and licenses
- Providing patentability, freedom to operate, and due diligence assessments
