We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse! As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will support the continuum of care through assessment and management of the procedural patient prior to anesthesia. Key accountabilities include the evaluation of pre-surgical screening using critical thinking and supporting evidence based practice; adherence to the Professional Practice standards as defined by ANA; active participation in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities. Serves as contact person for customers prior to Genesis Medical Center encounter; obtains health history and pertinent health information identifying factors that may impact the perianesthesia patients upcoming procedure and anesthesia. Ensures that services are provided efficiently according to Genesis Medical Center and departmental standards and goals. Provides perianesthesia education for the patient and family in the Preadmission or preanesthesia phase that will enhance knowledge and skills needed to promote recovery.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing
- Registered Nurse in Iowa
- License in Illinois required within one year
- BLS
- Keyboarding/ Windows experience
- More than 3 years experience required
Nice To Haves
- Medical/Surgical/Peds nursing experience preferred
