About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Pastry Shop Attendant is to accurately handle cash register transactions and ensure guests are greeted cheerfully and prepare food & beverages per guest’s request. This role involves executing store operations during scheduled shifts, organizing opening and closing duties, and maintaining a calm demeanor during high-volume periods. The attendant will utilize operational tools to achieve operational excellence, prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized requests, and provide quality products consistently. Responsibilities also include cleaning and bussing tables, organizing and replenishing the lobby area, stocking shelves, putting away deliveries, fulfilling customer orders, sweeping, mopping floors, changing trash cans, removing trash, and performing other detailed cleaning duties. The role requires providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service, accurately inputting orders and transactions into the POS terminal, and accounting for all sales. Making drinks to order, preparing and delivering pastries and retail items, maintaining stock levels, assisting with display cases and amenities, and keeping designated working areas clean and organized are also key duties. The attendant will assist co-workers, help train new staff, perform periodic cleaning tasks, attend mandatory meetings, and resolve guest complaints.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous cash handling experience required.
  • Work requires attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
  • Work requires use of a computer and/or cash register.
  • At least 1 year of related experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar resort setting.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
  • Nevada Food Handlers’ Certification.
  • Union Referral.
  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly.
  • Visual ability is needed to accurately measure ingredients, prepare recipes, or check for cleanliness.
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting a minimum of 60lbs repeatedly.
  • High School education or equivalent.

  • Must have a current and valid TAM Card (Alcohol Beverage Certification).

Responsibilities

  • Accurately handle cash register transactions.

  • Maintain and follow Dominique Ansel standards and pass company inspections.
  • Prepare all orders accurately and in a standardized time for food and beverages.
  • Keep the area clean and organized.
  • Responsible for proper rotation of stock.
  • Serving food from the display counter as well as handling retail sales.
  • Keep equipment clean and report any maintenance issues to manager.
  • Understand the importance of first in first out (FIFO), health safety and security for customers and employees alike.
  • Understand the importance of alcohol awareness and serving responsibly.
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts.
  • Organize opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve operational excellence during the shift.
  • Heat food and prep food with use of all outlet equipment and meet all food recipe requirements and standards.
  • Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized requests for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients, having knowledge of outlet equipment and their corresponding operating procedures.
  • Provide quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Clean/ bus tables, organize and replenish lobby area, stock shelves and or food products BOH & FOH, put away deliveries, fulfill customer orders, sweep, mop floors, change out trash cans, remove trash for work area and other detailed or deep cleaning duties.
  • Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to shop guests and staff.
  • Accurately input all orders into the POS terminal.
  • Accurately post all transactions on the POS terminal giving correct change; account for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established procedure; maintain integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
  • Make drinks to order in accordance with established recipes and time guidelines.
  • Prepare packages and deliver pastries and retail to customers in timely manner.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate level of stock items in area.
  • Assist in maintaining display cases and pastry par levels.
  • Assist with packaging products and building amenities.
  • Keep designated working areas clean and organized and assist in maintaining cleanliness of surrounding areas, and condiment areas in accordance with established health and safety standards.
  • Assist all co-workers as needed.
  • Assist in training new pastry shop attendants and new management staff during their training period.
  • Periodic cleaning tasks assigned by Management.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training classes as assigned.
  • Resolve guest complaints expeditiously and inform Management of the complaints.
